Ingredients

  • 180 g Whole wheat flour
  • 2 g Salt
  • 2 g Dry yeast
  • 150 ml Water
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • a lot Love
  • 1.5×3 tsp Mustard
  • 6 leaves Lettuce or greens
  • 3 slices Thin-sliced bacon
  • 6 piece Taro root
  • 1 tsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Sesame paste
  • 1 Green onion
  • 3 Soft-boiled eggs
  • 3 Cherry tomatoes
  • to taste Bonito flakes

Instructions

  • Mix whole wheat flour, salt, dry yeast, water, and love thoroughly. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours.
  • Divide the dough from step 1 into 3 equal portions. Coat hands with olive oil and thinly stretch each portion. Press the dough with fingers and sprinkle salt on top.
  • Bake at 200℃ for 12 minutes, then let cool.
  • Steam the taro, mash it, then mix in soy sauce, vinegar, sesame paste, and finely chopped green onion.
  • Cook the bacon.
  • Spread mustard on the cooled bread, top with lettuce or other greens. Place the bacon on top, then add the mashed taro mixture.
  • Top 5 with a soft-boiled egg, garnish with bonito flakes and cherry tomatoes.

Notes

This is a very substantial open sandwich. Whole wheat bread has a wonderful aroma and is perfect for sandwiches. How about trying this Japanese-style open sandwich?
