Rice Flour Lemon Oyaki Cake

Ingredients

  • 70 g Rice flour
  • 10 g Potato starch
  • 3 g Sugar
  • a little Salt
  • 3 g Baking powder
  • 50-60 ml Boiling water
  • 50 g Canned mackerel
  • 4 slices Honey-preserved lemon
  • 1/2 tsp Sesame oil
  • 50 ml Water
  • 1/2 tsp Soy sauce
  • a lot Love

Instructions

  • Mix rice flour, potato starch, sugar, salt, baking powder, and love. Gradually add boiling water and knead well.
  • Divide the dough into 5 equal portions. Place each portion between two sheets of plastic wrap and roll into a circle.
  • Finely chop the canned mackerel and honey-pickled lemon, then divide this mixture into 5 equal portions.
  • Wrap each portion of the mixture from step 3 inside a round piece of dough from step 2.
  • Fry the wrapped dumplings in a pan coated with sesame oil.
  • Once both sides are nicely browned, add water and steam-fry.
  • Finally, brush with soy sauce to add fragrance.

How to Make Honey-PreservedLemons

  • Slice lemons thinly and soak in honey for 2weeks. Enjoy the syrup diluted with water or soda. This method means you don't have to rush to use the lemons.
