Katsu-don

Katsu-don (pork cutlet served on top of a bowl of rice)

Ingredients

  • 100 g rice
  • 1 pork cutlet
  • 60 ml broth (kelp and bonito)
  • 1/4 onion
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sake
  • 1 tbsp mirin (sweet cooking sake)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Japanese parsley
  • A lot love

Instructions

  • Cook rice normally
  • Make the pork cutlets.
  • Cut onion into thin slices.
  • Make dashi broth from kelp and bonito flakes.
  • Cook onions in broth from 4.
  • When onions become soft, add soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar, salt and love.
  • Put the pork cutlet into the pot in 6.
  • Pour beaten egg over 7 and cook a little more
  • Put rice in a bowl, put 8 on top, and put Japanese parsley on top.

Notes

Combination of egg, soy sauce and pork cutlet are excellent.
