A Yearly Visit from Armenian Sisters at Kura Cooking

Every year, two sisters from Armenia come to visit Kura Cooking. This time, they asked to make miso nikomi udon and a seasonal cake, so we started by making the udon noodles from scratch.
They kneaded the dough with their feet, let it rest, rolled it out, and cut it—enjoying each step along the way. We prepared a rich broth using kombu and dried tuna flakes, and finished it with Kura Cooking’s original miso. They love this miso as well, so the dish turned out especially delicious.
For the seasonal sweet, we made an apple cake, shaping the apples into rose-like flowers. They worked very smoothly and skillfully.
I was happy to see how much they enjoyed everything. I’m truly grateful to have met them again this year, and it means so much that they remember and return to Kura Cooking.
