Cooking with English Teachers in Japan: A Warm International Gathering

Today we welcomed a friendly group of three English teachers working in Japan—one from England and two from the United States.
What a surprise to learn that the guest from England is originally from Yorkshire, which feels like my second hometown. I was so happy to chat about familiar places and neighborhoods in England.
As they don’t eat meat, we prepared deep-fried sea bream instead. They enjoyed it so much that they even went back for seconds, saying how delicious it was. They also really liked the sushi, shira-ae (tofu and vegetable salad), and miso soup, and mentioned that they would love to try making miso next time. It sounds like they may be coming back again.
I’m truly grateful for this wonderful encounter, and I hope they continue to discover and enjoy many beautiful aspects of Japan during their time here.
