30 Guests from Ireland: Learning Japanese Cuisine and Hospitality at Kura Cooking

30 Guests from Ireland
Today we welcomed 30 guests from Ireland. This time, they made shira-ae (tofu paste with vegetables). Since many of them were not familiar with tofu, they seemed a little nervous at first. But once they tasted it, they said “Delicious!” and most of them finished their plates.

As always, the most popular dish was teriyaki chicken.

Through cooking Japanese food, experiencing traditional Japanese architecture, and enjoying the Japanese garden, they were also able to learn about the spirit of Japanese hospitality. Watching them cook so happily filled me with gratitude.

I’m also very thankful for the support of my friends—eight of them helped out this time—and to my husband, who worked hard behind the scenes as always.

I truly hope Kura Cooking can continue to be a place for cultural exchange with many international guests.
