Afternoon Tea in Hawaii

A very cute tea room “Tea at 1024” found in Chinatown.

“Too cute?” I thought it was a little too cute, but I made a reservation.

There were no table cloths or table mats, but the atmosphere was very nice and the staff’s friendliness covers it.

First, we chose antique cups.

There were many UK, US and Japanese ceramics. My husband and I both chose the UK antique and then the tea. I chose a spicy herbal tea called “The water front” and my husband chose a fruity black tea called “Royal Bengal Tiger” with mango, ginger, lime, papaya, etc. The tea was served in a teapot with leaf tea. A jug of hot water is also served on the way.

I waited with this cute hourglass for 7 minutes, and my husband waited for 5 minutes.

In the meantime, we were served a salad with feta cheese. The salad was filled with fruit, all of which were delicious. Raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries. The natural sweetness was incredible.

After that, five sandwiches, two types of finger cakes (one pumpkin pie and one spicy pie, since it’s almost Thanksgiving), and scones, chocolate and herb (both with plenty of clotted cream and jam). The soft chocolate cookies were light.

While many afternoon teas are too large to eat, these were very easy to eat and I finished them in no time. Moreover, my stomach felt very good after eating them. This may be due to the Chinese spices.

You can find different teacakes and teas at different places.

I can’t stop going on afternoon tea tours after all!
