Afternoon tea in October “Halloween”
Every sweets in October in kura-cooking was used pumpkin.
Pumpkin is not only good for health but cute and tasty.
Every sweets had both atmosphere English and Japanese.
Some students enjoyed wearing Halloween costume.
All students and I had a very exciting time!
The menu was

Pumpkin muffin
Sweet pumpkin paste
Pumpkin sandwich
Rooibos tea of dried sweet potato, chestnut, and pumpkin
Ringtons’ organic tea with milk
We used a lot of mashed pumpkin to make pumpkin scones. They were orange color.
We put red bean paste with moccha and clotted cream on them.
They looked really beautiful and tasted excellent.
Pumpkin muffin is one of macrobiotic sweets. We didn’t use any sugar, we used sweetness of pumpkin and fermented rice drink.
Sweet pumpkin paste was a collaboration with England and Japan.
We mixed clotted cream, walnuts, which British people love and mashed pumpkin
Rooibos tea of dried sweet potato, chestnut, and pumpkin is really sweet so it doesn’t have any original Rooibos smell.
Rington is one of tea companies in England. They sell only tea bags.
Long time ago, they visited the customer’s house by coach to sell tea. These days they sell organic tea.
Pumpkin sandwich was putting mashed pumpkin and pumpkin seeds between slices of bread.
We can eat every part of the pumpkin, include skins and seeds.
I hope everybody eats whole pumpkin which has a lot of vitamin C and gets over the turns of the season.
