Kura Cooking in 2024.7

We had a variety of classes this month. In addition to the usual classes, there were classes for guests from England, Germany, or America and classes for parents and toddler, the combination Peruvian cuisine and Japanese cuisine class, and a class with an active working women from Tokyo.

I was excited every day. I received a lot of good inspiration.

The welcome drink was a fennel cordial water, lemon honey water, and plum lemon honey water. We served them according to the guests’ tastes. Table flowers were decorated with hydrangea and fennel.

Japanese cuisine class: Stuffed bell peppers, mix white bitter melon and ume, potato salad with garden peas, eggplant fried rice, soup with Aosa and Yuba, and sesame and walnut sweet soup.

Afternoon tea class: Blueberry rice flour scone, sesame and walnut sweet soup, basil flower focaccia, cucumber sandwich, a mojito with herbs, and fruit tea

A German family living in Switzerland enjoyed making Japanese sweets and tea ceremony. They loved sweets and ate all the sweets they made. They enjoyed tea ceremony.

The Peruvian and Japanese dishes were a combination of Causa Regena and Japanese food. They went together strangely well. What a beautiful potato salad!

A group of active working women from Tokyo cooked in an hour and ate in 30 minutes. Even so, they made Nagoya dishes (tenmusu, miso katsu, miso soup, and green tea Japanese steamed cake) quickly and ate them quickly with chatting with each other!

In the class for mothers and her 3-year-old child, the boy also helped her mother.

It was so cute to see him playing quietly while his mother was cooking!

In the class for families from the U.K. and the U.S.

They made Ball shaped Sushi, Misokatsu, Potato Cucumber, Miso Soup, and 2 kinds of Uiro (steamed cake).

They loved all of them. They were also interested in seasonings (especially miso) and brought back miso and yukari as souvenirs!

I was so glad that they were able to come in the midst of Japan’s murderous heat.

I was really happy they have a good experience of Japanese culture at Kura.
