In March’s cooking class
Cherry blossoms dishes
We enjoyed making cherry- blossom dishes in March without real cherry blossoms!
Cherry- blossom tea is one of the celebrated teas of Japan.
But after drinking tea, some cherry- blossoms and salt remain.
They would make a good seasoning, wouldn’t they?
Roasted chicken wings with Sakura leaves/Mix tomatoes and soft sardines/
Gratin of Yam/Snapper rice/Cabbage with Sakura/Sakura soup/Sakura mousse
Roasted chicken wings have a good scent of Sakura, because we use Sakura salt and grilled chicken with salty Sakura leaves.
Now is the best season for tomatoes and they taste good with soft sardines. Gratin of Yam is really healthy and its pink color is like the color of Sakura.
It is also the best season for snapper, and it is simple but good as a dish for celebrations.
Cabbage with Sakura is a good combination of sweet cabbage and salty Sakura. Sakura mousse is made with Sakura and Sakura leaves.
The Sakura taste spreads in one’s mouth.
The tea was Sakura black tea.
Oh, Japanese dishes are excellent!
I hope the students who took part in March’s classes eat Sakura dishes while seeing cherry-blossoms!
Please have a good year with Sakura and Sakura dishes!
