In February’s Cooking Class

The dishes of last month were for “The Girl’s Festival”

But the dessert was for “St. Valentine’s Day”.

We made them while seeing the red and white plum trees with flowers in the garden through the windows and we ate them while looking at the dolls and the ornaments of Girl’s Festival in the classroom. We had a wonderful class!

Menu:

Wrapped Sushi・2-colored clams・Crab jelly・Cooked seaweed ・Boiled rapeseed blossoms with broth and seasoning・yam soup.

Heart-shaped Japanese Jelly:

Making a thin omelet needs a special technique. I taught about it so every student could make it.

All the sushi is really pretty.

2-colored clams were made with big clams. We should make clam dishes for “The Girl’s Festival”

The meaning of the clams is that “Ladies can meet a good better half and have a happy marriage.

Each half shell matches only one other half-shell.

The crab jelly is really gorgeous but making it is really simple, so it is a good dish for entertaining.

The Red color of the crab is cute.

The cooked seaweeds:

Cooked seaweed is typical Japanese food. Every Japanese likes it. I hope every Japanese will learn to make it.

Yam soup:

Yam in soup are really soft and healthy.

Heart-shaped Japanese jelly:

It’s good present for St. Valentine’s Day, especially for men who can’t eat chocolate.

Husbands who receive it will surely be happy!

Every student enjoyed the Japanese atmosphere, Japanese food, and Japanese flowers
