In April’s cooking class

 

This month’s keyword is “Fresh Green”, I decided to use many kinds of leaves of vegetables, including mugwort.

They say that mugwort is the queen of herbs. We can use it eating, drinking, smelling, taking bath、and so on.

It’s good for one’s blood it stimulated of blood,, cleans it, fighting anemia, and so on.

It is the reason why grandmothers made mugwort rice cakes for their families in this season long ago.

I use mugworts in both class the Japanese class and the afternoon tea class. Mugwort stimulated the student’s noses. They tasted some dishes in which mugwort. They liked them very much.

In the Japanese cooking class, we made simple dishes which didn’t use broth. We could taste the essence of many foods made with a lot of love. I think it is the best seasoning.

In the afternoon tea class, we made the Japanese- style mugwort scones and English-style and the shortbread biscuits.

We enjoyed the good combination of Japanese and English dishes. We ate mugwort scones with a red bean paste and a clotted cream which went well with them.

The smoked salmon sandwiches were also combination of style. We used smoked salmon made in England and sesame bread which is a traditional Japanese food.

I served a yuzu and ginger honey hot drink as a welcome drink. It is useful during the changing of seasons,

Because when people take off their coats and are lightly dressed, their internal organs may become cold,

I decorated 2kinds of azalea flower arrangements and a third arrangement which only used green leaves
