British restaurant “BESPOQUE”
BESPOQUE is a gastropub in Higashi-Nakano, Tokyo.

It is a restaurant that serves delicious homemade British food.
It opened on February 22, 2012. It’s just like English pub
At that time, there were many working women in their 30s and 40s living alone in Higashi-Nakano. The concept of the restaurant was to provide a place where these women could enjoy a hot meal and a glass of wine casually on their way home after working late
Nowaday, this restaurant, conceived from the customer’s point of view, has become a place that attracts customers who appreciate the food.
The name BESPOQUE is from BESPOKE which means tailor-made. If you replace ‘QU’ with ”K”, the word becomes BESPOKE. This restaurant is just like a tailor because it aims to make everything just right for its customers.
It is a restaurant that accepts the wishes of its customers, a place where they feel at home, whether they want cake on a night when they have worked late, want to eat beef stew even though they are drinking alone, want to eat vegan food, or whatever.
I couldn’t wait to go to this wonderful restaurant. Every time the restaurant appeared on my friend’s Instagram, my desire to go there grew.
Finally, last week, I was able to go.
To order, you choose from the daily menu on the blackboard. There are some drink, beer, wine, and homemade lemon ginger juice, ginger ale, and iced tea- so even if you don’t drink alcohol, you can still enjoy yourself. The iced tea, a smoky black tea called Lapsang Souchong, goes very well with the meal.
That day, I had liver pate canape, roast beef salad, pork sausage, and fish and chips. Dessert was lemon Victorian cake.

Not only was the food delicious, but the owner was attentive, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was excellent. I was pleased with everything.
In addition, it was the perfect place to reconnected with a friend I first met nine years ago at a Turkish bath in England. We follow each other on social media but it was nice to see each other in person. We chatted a lot for about 2 hours.

What a wonderful time it was! When can I go to BESPOQUE again?
