September’s cooking classes

The keywords in September were “Full moon” and ”Salt lemon”

The salt lemon is good for one’s health to keep warm in this season.

We use it as seasoning in many kinds of dishes.

Welcome drink was the fermented rice drink with wolfberries

.

We made Japanese sweets like a moon for desert.

We made seven dishes, there were

・Cooked chicken drumsticks with carbonated drink: The carbonated drink made the chicken juicy and soft.

・Cooked dried tofu with sweet potato: Fresh sweet potato has a really good color

and it makes dried tofu sweeter.

・Mushrooms and yam salad: Mushrooms are delicious in this season.

・Cooked rice with apple and walnuts: It’s a really fruity and tasty rice.

・Pickled eggplants: The skin of autumn eggplants is hard so it’s good to peel it. It tastes good.

・Tune and winter melon soup: This white soup makes your body warm.

・Black sugar Japanese dumpling: These are moon shaped with cute rabbits Deco.

All students were surprised that there were sweet potatoes in the dried tofu dish,

and also that there were apples in the rice-cooker.

But they said, every dish was really delicious and was an autumn dish.

The tastes were really natural so they were good for health.

They also learned how to use salt lemon and how to make it. So I think more people will use it now.

October 4th Was a full moon. I hope all students made Japanese moon shaped dumplings.
