A few years ago, Giyaman plate were used for a dinner party at the Palace of Versailles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Giyaman plates became famous at that moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, a lot of restaurants all over the world ordered them and used them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just the other day, I visited the Kaneko Kohyo gallery and saw some very nice accessories on display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They were made from pieces of Giyaman that were cracked, broken or otherwise couldn\u2019t be sold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They say that there are as many of these irregular Giyaman plates as there are for sale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, the same amount of human labor is used to make them&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rie is a kintsugi artist (Rie @rie_no_ito), which means she puts broken pottery pieces back together with gold. She creates Giyaman accessories using kintsugi techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I admire her wonderful works.
