A Farewell Party with Tacos

Today, I held a farewell party with taco for the members of my adult English class, which has continued for 20 years.
The lunch menu included taco, guacamole, pani puri, Egyptian spinach with tofu paste, barley miso soup, and a summer fruit punch with umeboshi-flavored shiratama rice dumplings.
As some of the class members became over 75 years old, driving has gradually become more difficult. Sadly, this meant that we had to say goodbye to several members of the group.
For our final gathering, we decided to enjoy a special lunch together after our English lesson. Everyone said that most of the dishes were completely new to them, but they tasted everything, ate plenty, and shared many wonderful stories.
For 20 years, we met once a month for a two-hour lesson. Each class began with the students presenting a news story that they had prepared in English. Over the years, they learned many simple and useful English expressions.
Our conversations and exchanges of information during the break were also a very enjoyable part of every lesson.
It is truly sad to think that I will no longer see the people whom I met every month for so many years. However, it is important not to push ourselves too hard.
I sincerely hope that they will continue to enjoy healthy, active, and fulfilling lives for many years.
